on 6 events in the 4 days we are there at the horse park. PFHA is in
the process of getting a choreographer/producer, deciding what horses,
riders and people will be needed to assist in presenting our horses
to an international event for the first time. Money has been raised
thru auctions and benefits.
If interested in
volunteering to help assist please call Jackie Holland 859-816-1095,
we have started a list and will contact people when we know more. All
will have to go thru a background check.

Kentucky
Classic 2010 Show
It is that time
again for planning and gearing up for our annual show in Shelbyville,
Ky. The dates this year are July 16, 17 and 18. We are having 2 judges
for both shows this year, a change made due to requests over the past
few years from our exhibitors. We have a new show Secretary, Sharon
Scott; she is very experienced in Paso Fino Horse shows and already
on the job. Show manager this year is Catherine Chiappetta and we are
glad to have her back after taking time off from the horses to further
her career. Congrats on passing your CNA Boards but we are very glad
to have you back!!!! Catherine has already started on getting things
done for the show, as we all know for this type of event things have
to get done early; from picking the judges down to who will donate flowers
for the sounding board. Thank you Catherine.
WE NEED
YOUR HELP
We need your help
as volunteers at our show. Please call Catherine Chiappetta 502-727-5871
or Bob Windsor 502-647-4914. Anytime or anything that you can donate
as a region member would greatly be appreciated. I.e. gate keepers,
ribbon givers, dinner and auction setup, etc. The show would not be
as great as it is without you as exhibitors and volunteers.
It’s
a Makeover
Our website is
going through a complete makeover and update. We are revamping everything
from membership to adding a futurity rules section because of frequently
asked questions. We hope this will help. We are always looking for new
material and especially photos for our photo gallery. Send in photos
on a disc or as an attachment in your email to Jackie Holland at haltnsalut@aol.com.
Photos can be from local events or shows. Feel free to send in stories
of human or horse interest. We all want to hear what is going on where
you live. Check out our ad page and prices for advertising your farm
or business or horses for sale at www.kentuckypasofinos.us.
KY
Derby Pegasus Parade
Once again we have
been accepted into the Kentucky Derby Pegasus Parade. What a great parade
to be in to show case our horses to the world. The Derby Parade is the
third largest parade in the U.S. with approximately 275,000 spectators
at the parade itself in addition to local T.V. and ESPN coverage.
We are looking
for horses and riders that will represent the breed. This is a large
parade and it is highly recommended that you have a lot of riding and
showing experience as well as your horse. Horses have to be used to
loud noises, horns, marching bands, air balloon floats, etc. I think
you get the idea. The parade is very exciting and spectacular to be
involved in but not for the faint hearted rider. The parade is very
safe and there are handlers appointed to each unit.
Please call Jackie
Holland (859-816-1095) if you are interested in participating. The date
of the parade is Thursday April 29, 2010 at 5 pm. In Louisville, KY.
